Dr. Utsinger grew up on a farm near Canton, Illinois and attended Spoon River Valley High School. He graduated as the valedictorian of his class and has attended the University of Illinois, Illinois State University, Bradley University, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University.
Dr. Utsinger worked as a Corporate Instructor for Sprint (technology instructor), taught High School Mathematics for 9 years in central Illinois, and is in his 10th year of school administration. Jeff is currently the Assistant Superintendent/CSBO/Business Manager of the Canton CUSD 66 school district.
Dr. Utsinger started is administration career at Geneseo Dist #228, where he was awarded the Illinois Principals Association (BlackHawk Region) "Assistant Principal of the Year" for 2015. BlackHawk Region's "Assistant Principal of the Year". Jeff has served as a coach, teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Principal, and now is an Assistant Superintendent. Jeff is married to his wife, Lori, and they have a son. Lori, who is a partner at a law firm, successfully won her case in front of the Iowa Supreme Court on Feb 23, 2022. The session can be seen here.
Jeff earned his Doctorate by successfully defending his dissertation on Nov 2, 2022. Dissertation title: "The Effect of Maternal Education on Children's Academic Growth and Attainment in Elementary School".
